I am happy to introduce to you saxophonist Franck Diagana from Paris, France.

What instruments do you play?

Tenor and soprano saxophone and the flute

How did you start playing music?

I started quite late, at 27 years old. I went to the conservatory to start learning.

What are your current projects?

Relaunch my Quartet CARPE’DJAM sax/drum/bass/Piano. To improve my band experience and instrument at American School of Modern Music Paris and JVL. To continue and go on  with the Sax Quintet initiative by A.Terrier and see if we can extend it in sextet or octet bass/drum and piano.

What are your musical goals?

Improve my ear training, my capacity to hear a note and play it on my instrument. Develop capacity to synchronise chords and rhythmic figures in improvisation. Develop my sound.

How has JVL helped you? What’s your favorite thing about the website?

I started Rhythmic Considerations In Improvisation which make me stronger rhythmically. I love having access to all these lessons to improve practice and get more knowledge.

How would you describe JVL?

A network of musicians and a library of adapted lessons to improve the playing of jazz musicians.

    Yes. Already seen. I will practice voice leading exercise over it to see how it can make me more smooth in my improvisation.
