This masterclass is about Jeff’s book “Developing Bebop Lines” (a PDF download is included with the class) that has been praised by pros like Jerry Bergonzi, Dick Oatts, Chad LB and numerous students.
Jeff has developed an approach that allows the student to create their own language by breaking the material into small fragments.
This is a Level 4 masterclass.
“These etudes are for educational purposes, written over the chord changes of common standard tunes and should be used to analyze how to connect harmony. In order to develop well-constructed solos, many of these lines will need to be edited and syncopation will need to be added.” Jeff Ellwood
In this short video I took one phrase from the etude and I show you how it can work on different chords.
There are more options, let me know in the comments what you find!
Receive Jeff Ellwood‘s 54-page e-book “Developing Bebop Lines” that covers these topics:

Hello Alex
I’m looking forward to this masterclass with the great Jeff Ellwood! Will you send us (the ones like me who already paid that live workshop) a email link 1-2 days before? Would be cool to prepare myself. Thank you.
Hi Stefan! Thank you for participating, this is going to be a great class 🙂 The PDF will be downloadable during the event, I think it’s actually better so we can get all the explanations from Jeff as we go. Make sure you watch the short videos I have posted and study Sweet Georgia Brown: https://jazzvideolessons.net/standards-studies/sweet-georgia-brown/
What an awesome class!
Check out the solo of Seamus Blake that Jeff refers to in his Chinese portrait:
Yes Noah, that’s correct 🙂
Very excited by this one; I have used some of Jeff Ellwood’s materials posted on the web previously.
Oh yeah this is going to be massive!
