In this lesson we look at the tune “Hi-Fly” by Randy Weston,a great choice for those who want to learn jazz standards.We analyze the melody, its rhythmic treatment, and the harmony. Then we look at Cannonball’s solo and look at how he plays contrasting phrases, what melodic material he uses, the time feel, the targeted notes, blues scale, symmetric scales  etc…
