      Julien Emmanuel Yes you can see it as a A7b9 and use the half-whole scale from A, which is the same as the whole-half from Bb.
      You can also consider Bb and Db to be the chromatic approaches of the A and C, interestingly enough if you use D# and F# as the chromatic approaches of E and G you end up with… the half-whole scale 🙂

    In the standard “Wave” (in D) the second chord is a Bb dim.
    Is there any parent scale for this chord ?
