The big takeaway is how calm Boris is within his vast knowledge. It shows that even though he was likely a prodigy, it is the fact that he has inhabited the musical space for so long that accounts for his relaxed maturity when playing. I have enjoyed his work with Lew, but the group with Brecker (Adam Rogers, Gil Goldstein, Clarence Penn) was amazing.
