This ‘How High The Moon’ lessondesigned to help you learn jazz standards, is divided into 5 videos:
In Lesson 1 we do the harmonic analysis and the do solfege.
In Lesson 2 we look at a specific harmonic progression and voice leading and I give you an exercise to practice.
In Lesson 3 we look at a second harmonic progression and I give you 2 exercises to practice.
In Lesson 4 we practice the first phrase in 12 keys using the whole tone transposing cycle, then improvise.
In Lesson 5 I show you how to practice the IMaj7 bop scale and the V7 bop scale throughout the form. First I want you to practice starting on the scale degree 1, go through the exercises and start on different beats.
Then start on the 3rd, 5th and 6th for Maj7 chords. On dominant chords use the 3rd, 5th and 7th.
